In the role as Climate and Environmental Manager you will lead our efforts to reach net-zero by 2035, and maintain a systematic way of working with environmental issues, which is crucial to our success.  


About the job  

In the role as Climate and Environmental Manager you will manage our efforts to rapidly reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in line with our ambitious science-based targets, and drive environmental improvement efforts throughout the organization. The role includes a wide variety of assignments including implementing our climate transition plan, driving emissions reduction in scope 1, 2 and 3, carbon accounting, and maintaining our Environmental Management Systems. You will work closely with our Head of Sustainability, Erik, ensuring that every day brings new and impactful change from operational tasks to presenting strategies to our management team. 


Responsibilities include: 

  • Climate transition plan: lead initiatives to meet our net-zero target by 2035, continuously updating our plan based on the latest climate science. 
  • Environmental Management System: drive implementation, project management and continuous improvements 
  • Sustainability reporting: data collection, climate calculations, analysis and project management of climate and environmental data 
  • ESG ratings: collect and analyse data, and driving projects to improve Tele2’s results in climate and environment ratings 
  • Communication: provide expertise for internal and external communication related to Tele2’s climate performance  
  • We are a small team with a big responsibility, so we expect that you are prepared to roll-up your sleeves and dig in where necessary when the Sustainability function faces demanding tasks – just like your colleagues will be there to support you when you need it 


Who are you?  

To thrive and succeed in this role we believe that you have: 

  • a proven track record in sustainability, with substantial experience from consulting or similar corporate roles, focused on climate and/or environment, but we are gladly challenged with other profiles 
  • a degree within business, accounting, engineering, communications or similar. A focus or specialization on climate or environmental studies is advantageous 
  • strong project management skills 
  • have proficiency in Excel for calculations and Powerpoint for professional presentations 
  • fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken 
  • experience from sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, working with ESG ratings and/or internal/external communication is meriting but not a must

You have strong analytical skills, that you combine with a high level of creativity to solve complex problems. Your communication skills are a strong tool, that you use to interact with colleagues and other stakeholders, in a social, responsive and accommodating way.

Hi! I’m Erik Wottrich, Head of Sustainability at Tele2. I have a background from management consulting where my greatest interest of course was sustainability projects. I started at Tele2 in 2019 and now our team needs reinforcement to ensure we maintain our position as a leader in the climate and environmental aspects of sustainability. Since 2019, we have made Tele2 one of Sweden’s most sustainable companies, and in the team we strive to ensure that Tele2 continues to be a sustainability leader.
