We are looking for a Product Quality Engineer to join our Component Product Quality Team in Vantaa. This is a fixed-term employment contract, starting in 1st Jan 2022 and continuing until 31st Jul 2022, and you will act as a substitute of a current team member.

As a Product Quality Engineer, you represent customer’s voice from quality point of view when controlling internal change management and non-conformity processes. This position requires you to gain deep product and manufacturing process knowledge for production non-conforming-material decisions and production process change notices.

The Component Product Quality Team is responsible for the outgoing quality of the products in high-volume production. Team consist of sr. Product Quality Specialists, Product Quality Specialists and Engineers, Quality Technicians and Quality Inspectors. Responsibilities of Product Quality Specialists and Engineers has been defined based on product families.

With more difficult cases our experienced team is always ready to support and find good solution for though problems. In addition to different production stakeholders, product quality team is also working in close collaboration with Failure Analysis Team and Supplier Quality Management Team.

Your tasks contain:

  • Ensure timely reaction to early signs of poor product quality performance
  • Ensure daily production support and communication in product and quality related items in all shifts
  • Provide daily yield information with alerts, root causes and solutions for production and other functions
  • Development of quality controls and support process improvements based on customer feedback and report ongoing progress of quality cases
  • Non-conforming material handling, reporting and making release/scrap decisions
  • Require that deviations assigned to other parts of the organization to be completed on time, follow-up on the progress and support whenever possible
  • Ensure reliable and timely internal and customer return handling
  • Support Element Manufacturing Quality Specialists
  • Support Process Development and other organizations

Required skills:

  • Technical or science education, e.g. D.Sc., M.Sc., D.Sc. (Tech), Bachelor of Applied Science (Tech).
  • Passion to understand physical phenomena and capability to apply scientific approach to improve our Murata Manufacturing System.
  • Experience of statistical data analysis (JMP, Minitab, Matlab) and capability to handle large numerical data sets.
  • Capability to utilize cross-functional teamwork with people with different technical skill sets during problem-solving process.

Desired but not mandatory skills:

  • Experience of MEMS, semiconductor or electronics manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems, LEAN thinking, daily management practices and quality tools
  • Understanding of advanced failure-analysis methods and tool
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering
  • Quality methods: Change control, 8D, FTA, RCA

You are passionate to find technical solutions on the upcoming challenges; however, you understand the time criticality of automotive production and you can adapt your work priorities accordingly. We appreciate teamwork capabilities and systematic and careful way of working. Working in Global Murata environment and documenting technical specifications require fluent English communications skills.
