Northvolt is underway in establishing Northvolt Labs as Europe’s leading campus for battery technologies! With the pilot factory Northvolt Labs in its heart and with
key facilities under development, which include platforms for material and cell R&D & industrialization, battery systems development and battery recycling. Collectively, Northvolt Labs will host a unique ecosystem of capacities for catalyzing advances in the emerging European battery industry and lead to employment of some 1,000 persons. The campus will provide customers with access to a toolbox spanning the full-spectrum of value-chain activities relating to lithium-ion battery design, development and lifecycle.

To succeed in this establishment we are now looking for a Talent/HR Director to lead the people side of the Västerås establishment. Your mission is to ensure we successfully combine continuous growth with building an attractive local workplace with a strong safety-first culture, together with the EHS team (Environmental, Health & Safety).

You are part of the Labs management team, reporting to the Chief Development Officer who leads the expansion of Northvolt Labs into a fully-integrated ecosystem for catalyzing technological advances in the emerging European battery industry.

You also play a central role in the Group Talent network, where you strongly contribute to the development of Northvolt’s talent agenda and process development. In the continuous growth of Labs you will have a tight collaboration with the centralized Talent Acquisition team.

In general you have a long experience in the field and have been driving large, innovative and challenging HR projects with high demands on both strategic and operational excellence.

Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with HR and EHS related questions within preferably a manufacturing context and with a proven successful achievement from union relations, as well as from creating and implementing the HR agenda.

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
