Do you want to explore new opportunities in the intersection between edtech and journalism, creating a pioneering product for our youngest audience in Scandinavia?
Our mission is to make children better readers and s trengthen their ability to influence their own lives and participate in public debate. We will do that through a platform offered to primary and lower secondary school students and teachers, which they use in their daily education. We also experiment with various materials, texts, podcasts, and AI voice/synthetic audio developed specifically for children.
Our stack is mostly Node.js, Typescript, React (Next.js), GraphQL, Apollo, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch and Travis on AWS. We write performant and understandable code and follow routines and best practices to ensure the best possible security. We try to always be up to date on new frameworks and technologies that can make our product better.
You will join a cross-functional team of highly talented individuals. You are relentlessly technical and capable of being a strong individual and team player in a distributed team. As with any engineer we hire, the ability to communicate well is crucial. You will participate in multiple initiatives with other disciplines across our different locations. We have trust by default, and you can feel open to sharing your ideas and thoughts with anyone.
You care about the quality of the products you make. You are passionate about technology, have an eye for design and accessibility, and are a natural and effective problem solver. You are result-oriented and willing to share your knowledge. You are comfortable working remotely partially through the week but appreciate coming to the office frequently for meetings and social events.
You will be part of an organisation with 300+ experts in product management, UX, and technology across Norway, Sweden and Poland. We build new digital products and technology platforms for Schibsted, enabling independent journalism to thrive with products people love.
