Security Engineer

Northvolt is looking for a Security Engineer with the right attitude and personal characteristics to join our passionate Security team.

In joining Northvolt you will play an important part from the very start supporting in building the first large scale European battery factories! Our factories are built with the latest technology and are highly digitalized, meaning an important job to be done from a security perspective!

We are looking for You that sees an opportunity in defining, implementing, and continuously developing our Cyber Defense Centre (SOC). This is a great possibility for You that want to make a difference and an impact! You will together with bold and experienced colleagues support building and developing Northvolt's Security team.

As our Security Engineer, you will be our first line of defence against malicious actors, look for weaknesses and create robust countermeasures to prevent future incidents. You will play a key role in security incident response management and operational security as well as continuously advice how to safeguard Northvolt´s devices, network, production, and systems.

You will report to the CSO/CISO of Northvolt.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform monitoring, detection, and security engineering tasks in Azure (Sentinel), Microsoft 365, AWS and any other solutions managed by Northvolt.
  • Proactively work towards continual improvements of security processes, tools and routines (such as, but not limited to, Microsoft 365 Information Protection, Identity Governance).
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behaviour and set up preventive measures.
  • Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure, devices and systems.
  • Define and continuously improve the way of working and the cybersecurity architecture.
  • Evaluate the security maturity of new software installations and changes of existing ones.

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • +5 years or more years’ work experience as a Security Engineer or related position.
  • Experience in Security monitoring and incident response handling, cyber threat mitigation using SIEM tools and Cloud Security Engineering.
  • Experience in threat intelligence, threat hunting, vulnerability scanning, and support for internal investigations.
  • Proven experience developing, operating and maintaining cyber security systems.
  • Experience regarding identity and access management principles and Advanced Persistent Threat (APT).
  • Experience of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems is a plus.

  • Experience and interest in OT-security and in manufacturing industry is a plus.

  • Relevant security certifications like CCNP, GIAC, SCA, CISSP is a plus.
