Roles? We are looking for 2 Head of Engineering: one for Oikotie Jobs and another for Oikotie Real Estate to lead Technology teams of talented software developers and development managers. Empower and motivate the team to reach their full potential and the team ambitious targets.
As a Head of Engineering of Oikotie Jobs you will be responsible for Oikotie Työpaikat, Taito (Application Tracking System) and our shared core platform (Core Services & Integrations).
As a Head of Engineering of Oikotie Real Estate you will be responsible for Oikotie Asunnot, PDX (B2B system for realtors and constructors) and our shared mobile applications (IOS & Android).

WHAT’S THE JOB LIKE?
Responsibilities & projects
Your mission as a Head of Engineering is to lead a team of talented software developers and development managers and empower them to reach their full potential by enabling development, facilitating wellbeing, supporting them with the employment lifecycle matters and leading by example & being the value ambassador.
You are passionate about creating and delivering value in close collaboration with your product and business counterparts. In this perspective, you spar various ideas and concepts with your colleagues and you are also able to challenge the status-quo in a healthy and trustworthy manner, when needed. In your role, it is needed to be able to build and communicate plans towards delivering sustainable products that will contribute to win in our markets and make our company vision happen.
In addition to company internal collaboration, you will also be actively involved in cross nordics collaboration projects along with our subsidiary companies from Schibsted group. You will be part of our Schibsted Technology leadership team and you are reporting directly to our CTO Nicolas. You will build close relationships with your colleagues from all around the organisation, and you will proactively contribute to our Schibsted Tech community activities.
As a strong agile and lean practitioner, you will also adopt our innovative company ways of working; relying on collaborative goal-setting (OKRs, Objectives-Key Results) combined with our network of empowered squads.
WHO ARE YOU?
You have solid experience in leading and building software development teams. You have a great ability to motivate people and you are able to effectively scale a team and lead the team by our leadership principles. You have the ability to share expertise and lead diversity while navigating in an evolving organisation.
You have relevant work experience in a similar position for more than 5 years. You have a broad understanding of various Technology domains and as such, you can actively contribute to technical discussions, asking relevant questions and providing guidance leading towards sound strategic and / or architectural decisions.
You have a growth mindset. Outstanding product and engineering instincts and creativity combined with a passion for thinking big and disrupting the status quo.
Solid experience from working in a leadership team, creating technology roadmap and direction based on business strategy.
You are curious, humble and love to learn from others and you feel at home with our values: win together, be curious and have courage.
Strong background in driving agile and modern software delivery (continuous delivery, observability).
University degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent degree. Usually studies give you a great & solid basis for theory and basics that are needed to succeed in this position.
Fluency in written & spoken English, as it is our company language.
These are seen as a strong plus (but not mandatory):
Experience in software architecture design.
Experience in data management and data-driven organisation.
Experience in developing and operating high-traffic internet applications.
Experience in public cloud platforms, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Working proficiency in Finnish.
