Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a product owner to join our stellar team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

As a product owner at Northvolt, Digitalization, you are responsible for the “what” and “why”. You work closely with the engineering manager of the team who is responsible for the “how”.

In this role, you will be working in the team Production improvements and will report to the product manager for the product area Production Control & Execution which is one of the key teams in Digitalization. You will work intimately with other teams from other product areas within Digitalization, as well as other teams external to Digitalization.

You will be responsible for collecting requirements, defining problem statements, and identifying opportunities, and prioritizing those in accordance with what is most beneficial for the direct users as well as the company as a whole. The product owner is responsible for providing guidance in terms of clarity, focus, and prioritization for the team, as well as being responsible for the full life-cycle success of developed features.

Production Control & Execution

The product area Production Control & Execution is responsible for enabling production in the factory through software and empowering the teams working on the frontline of the factory, as well as the teams working to continuously optimize the factory effectiveness.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collecting and structuring of requirements, problem statements, and opportunity discovery
  • Responsible for the solution of a product or feature and ensure it fulfills the product strategy
  • Contribute to the product vision and roadmap.
  • Owns the backlog and prioritization
  • Defines iterations (scrum sprint, Kanban planning, etc). Accept iteration increments.
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Ensure developers have prior prepared tasks to work on which cont

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A degree in MSc or MBA/Relevant University Degree
  • 3+ years working experience in product development
  • Track record of successful product development achievements and roll-out
  • Successful track record of scaling small teams in a fast-growing environment ideally in the software or manufacturing industry
  • Curious, technically educated, and with a strong business background
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus, but not a requirement
