This is a full-time position based out of Liquid Swords legendary HQ in Nacka, Sweden (10 minutes from the city of Stockholm) in a no-nonsense studio built by concrete and metal. We follow all governments recommendations regarding Covid-19 pandemic and will ensure a safe work environment if you choose to work at the office or from home.
What you’ll be doing
As the Technical Animator at Liquid Swords, it is your mission to establish our AAA quality bar by defining, setting-up and maintaining animation pipelines and facilitating animators and designers to help maximize efficiency in feature development. Being the first Technical Animator in the studio, means that you will BE everything technical animation.
We are looking for a problem solver and a creative thinker whose role will include building tools, rigging in game assets such as characters, props and environment elements and being able to choose tech as you see fit without any existing legacy. Collaborating with your colleagues in other departments such as animation and design, you will help define and set up workflows and pipelines, and also help with state machine design, unreal blueprint implementation with a focus on gameplay animations, player mechanics and in-game narrative.
The game we are making is a contemporary, single-player action-RPG focused on characters, narrative, and spectacular action using Unreal 5.
We are a studio with a strong focus on quality and our collective effort on delivering the right set of quality standards is key for us. Joining our team now means that you will be a part of creating video games history, heavily influencing the early concept and development of our innovative next-generation, action packed, open-world experience.
A Technical Animator with some years of experience from the games industry where you have been part of many phases of one or different projects.
You have experience setting up pipelines and implementing them, now you also want to be the one defining and evangelist them to the rest of the studio.
You have the ability to provide strong character rigging / skinning.
A big added plus is if you have experience writing scripts and tools using C++ or Python.
Another plus is experience or knowledge from cloth, physics and ragdoll and/or performance impact and memory cost.
