HOW IT WORKS
Get Matched: Apply and get matched with a VFA startup partner in your area of interest.
Get Immersed: Spend 3 months in this role, during which you will be immersed in the local context, be connected to expert mentors, and get to understand market nuances.
Get Working: Work on real project deliverables for your assigned startups while being paid a stipend.
Get Hired: While full-time roles are not guaranteed, you are fast-tracked through ordinary application processes for available full-time roles with the startup post the fellowship
Startup Partner: AjoCard
AjoCard is a fintech company that makes it easy for consumers to operate digitally. The company has designed, built, and launched a technical platform to reduce the friction in everyday financial transactions, whether it is to improve savings for consumers removed from financial services, or banked consumers without access to their financial transaction platforms due to location.
AjoCard enables these transactions everywhere using a combination of technology (such as software and mobile POSs) and an expanding agency platform.
AjoCard is looking for an individual with a background and skills in product management who is passionate about building products. You should be comfortable with using data-driven methods and be able to manage the success of software products through experiments, established tools, and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll out products.
Key Project Deliverables
Lead the entire lifecycle of development for AjoCard's suite of products. This encompasses everything from researching new features and creating detailed specs, to triaging bugs, managing the team’s workflow, to shipping deliverables on time.
Work closely with the engineering, design, marketing, and analytics teams to grow our customer base by optimizing the conversion pipeline, retention, and re-engagement initiatives.
Creation of Product Requirements Documentation (PRD).
Formulate tailored product campaigns and client journey strategies based on market segmentation analyses according to segment needs.
Own the product roadmaps for each business line.
Reports to: CEO
4+ years of experience in product management or a product-adjacent role with demonstrated ability to lead technical teams. Prior experience with a high-growth consumer software product or in a growth-focused role is a plus.
Proven intuition and skills for designing world-class customer experiences through well-honed user research techniques and mock-ups.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong technical and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner, seeking out areas that need attention, rather than being asked to look at specific problem areas.
