About the team:

The team is a crucial part of Consumer Business Technology(CBT), residing in the Consumer Business organization within News Media. User Revenue Suite is a modern, multi-tenant, subscription platform and will be used by all brands within Schibsted News Media. The brands include the biggest news destinations in Norway and Sweden like Aftonbladet, VG, Svenska Dagbladet and Aftenposten among others. User Revenue Suite handles all aspects of the journey from being an unknown user to a paying subscriber.

Consumer Business Technology is a department consisting of 30 engineers in addition to UX, Product and Data analysts distributed between Kraków, Stockholm and Oslo. We own and operate an ecosystem handling Subscription & Billing, Marketing Automation, Campaign Management, Data & Insight and Customer Service. The Oslo team will be mostly focused on the parts of our platform responsible for all campaign management and marketing automation but will also take on other challenges/work at times.

About the role

We have a modern tech stack which we refine and grow as we discover solutions for the situations we face. You will find yourself with the opportunity to work with Node, React, Kotlin, Java, micro-services, SQL & NoSQL databases, a wide range of AWS services, Convox, Kubernetes, as well as experiment with new technologies.

You will report to the team’s designated Engineering Manager and you will work closely with a highly skilled team of engineers in CBT. The team is distributed across Oslo, Stockholm and Krakow so you’ll get the opportunity to travel.

What you’ll do

  • Work together with Engineering Managers, User Experience Designers, Product and Engineering teammates to build and improve features for CBT

  • Bring forward and develop ideas which are vital to the biggest news media sites across Norway and Sweden

  • Contribute to engineering efforts from investigation, to design, to implementation; solving complex technical challenges along the way

  • Collaborate across teams, functions, and companies within News Media to create the best possible product and user experience

  • Coach others in your strengths, learn from your peers, and embrace complete ownership of our product


  • Experience from several projects in a professional working environment

  • Proficient in English
