Would you love to be in the middle of the film industry, but lack the talent of acting? Good news - we are on the lookout for a Production Accountant to join our Nordic finance team!

Our Nordic Finance team provides financial expertise to all our businesses and across all of SF Studios’ locations, from cash flow analysis and payments to budget and forecasting, accounting, reporting, and business analyses. One of our business areas includes local and international productions of feature films and TV series like Red Dot, Horizon Line, and Snabba Cash. As our new Production Accountant, you will support our international and Nordic productions with financial tasks. This is an exciting role where you will be in the middle of the film industry and have a key role within SF Studios and work closely with our production teams in Sweden and UK as well as other colleagues within Finance and our Shared Service partner Cognizant.

As Production Accountant, you will focus on production accounting for one of our production entities in Sweden as well as our UK entities, which are responsible for our international productions. You will support with monthly closing, payments, support for our financial systems as well as manage internal and external contacts both local as well as international. You will manage supplier invoices, day-to-day production accounting and control of cash flows. During productions, you will oversee payments, manage payroll, and provide weekly cost reports. You will finalize financial records relating to the production, and sometimes provide documentation to independent audits. More specifically, you will:

  • Support our producers and production staff with day-to-day financial activities (e.g invoice handling, petty cash)
  • Accounting of film and TV series productions including regular accounting and work in progress
  • Be the main point of contact towards the production accountant for each international project and external production companies (e.g Netflix)
  • Work in close collaboration with our local office in UK
  • Do follow-ups on our international productions
  • Manage customer billing in a timely manner, payments and handling of accounts receivables including collection processes
  • Handle supplier invoices and register in work-flow systems
  • Perform month-end account reconciliations and other monthly closing activities
  • Create and analyze AP and AR by compiling electronic data and required documentation
  • Superuser in our systems Agresso, Aico and Palette including system support to production colleagues
  • Team up with our Production Business Controller and Production Accountant for local productions
  • Other ad hoc activities and projects within Finance

You will be a key member of our Nordic Finance team and report to the Head of Financial controlling. The role is based in Stockholm but you will have stakeholders in the UK and the Nordics.

To be successful in this role, we believe you have:

  • 5-10 years of accounting experience
  • A university degree in Finance or equivalent Finance work experience
  • Experience from film or TV production, media, tech, construction or telecom business
  • Technical skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge in audit processes from large companies
  • Fluent in English and Swedish
