Haglöfs AB is now recruiting a Product Developer Manager to the Product team in Stockholm, Sweden.

As Product Developer Manager at Haglöfs you have the overall responsibility to manage and develop Haglöfs products across the different business areas. Together with the full Product Department ensure that we delight and enhance our consumers experience and brand appeal. This includes managing the Product Developers, working closely with design and understanding our consumer segmentation in order to realise the designs.

This role is responsible for timely delivery of prototypes, SMS and pre production samples. Negotiation of cost prices through the critical path in line with the company’s long-term strategies for product development and profitability.

This role will manage a professional development team to deliver high class development function and capability that together with design, product management and materials teams realises the brands business objectives.

The position is situated at the Haglöfs Head office in Alvik, Stockholm.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Product Development

  • Overall responsibility for developing Haglöfs products from design tech pack to finished product with regards to best function and quality and of manufacturability of designs.
  • Together with Head of Sourcing and Development manage critical path and development process to deliver the range on time, in full, meeting margin targets and to the correct quality standards.
  • Responsible for the overall, general development process and the seasonal tracking against critical path, including follow up on sample delivery status and other seasonal activities (Proto flow list, price list etc)
  • Assist other functions with seasonal overviews and other product related information

Technical Standards

  • Responsible for establishing and ensuring the delivery of appropriate Technical standards for the brand by implementing the correct processes and procedures to deliver quality premium outdoor clothing and managing the sourcing and delivery of products

Production Planning & Delivery Security

  • Ensure that the Purchasing Department receives accurate information about lead times and production minimum for efficient and accurate production planning.
  • Work closely with the Operations Director’s team to handover developed styles for bulk production.


  • Working closely with Head of Sustainability execute the relevant aspects of the sustainability strategy and internal standards for compliance.
  • Provide information internally and externally to comply with regulations and to educate and manage consumer expectations.


  • Lead the Development team to understand GM0 targets and their role in that.
  • Be responsible for ‘development’ slice of the product margin and understand guard rails between Development / Materials / Design.

Skills & Requirements

We are looking for a driven and self-motivated person with minimum 3 years of management experience. To be successful in this role you should have/be:

  • Have a relevant academic education preferably from Textile Engineering or Textile Economy.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience from working with outdoor/sports garment/accessories development, production and sourcing at a senior level.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the related manufacturing landscape.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven management and coaching skills. Experience from leading a production, design or pattern team.
  • Experience in digital development and patternmaking ideal though not essential.
  • Fluency in the English
