Job Description

You will be responsible for managing and maintaining Middleware applications that connect different software applications, systems, or services within an organization. Middleware is software that provides common services and capabilities to applications outside of what's offered by the operating system. This can include web servers, application servers, content management systems, and other tools that support application development and delivery.

  • Installation and Configuration: Install and configure middleware applications and tools. Ensure that middleware is set up correctly and optimally for performance and security;
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor middleware performance and availability. Maintain middleware systems by applying patches, updates, and upgrades. Perform regular health checks and diagnostics;
  • Security: Implement and manage security measures for middleware applications. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments;
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve middleware-related issues. Provide support to application developers and users. Document incidents and resolutions;
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of middleware systems. Analyze performance data and make recommendations for improvements;
  • Integration: Manage the integration of middleware with other systems and applications. Ensure seamless data flow and communication between different systems;
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for middleware configurations, processes, and procedures. Create and update operational manuals;
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, such as network administrators, database administrators, and application developers. Collaborate with vendors and third-party support teams.
Skills & Requirements
  • Proficiency in middleware technologies such as WebLogic, JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, IBM WebSphere;
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and services (HTTP, HTTPS, SSL);
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Shell, Perl) for Automation;
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and troubleshoot issues;
  • Experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools;
  • Understanding of security principles and practices related to middleware;
  • Knowledge of firewall, encryption, and authentication technologies;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills;
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, etc.) is an asset;
  • Fluency in French and good command in English are required;
  • 3+ years university degree in IT and at least 5 years of professional experience in an international complex environment.
