About the Team
Meltwater’s Research & Analytics team is making data-driven decisions a reality. We are data advocates - making high quality product and customer behavior data and analyses easily accessible, to enable Meltwater Product, Customer Success, and Executive teams to make better decisions and to better support our customers.
We are a distributed team, with team members in the San Francisco Bay Area, Austria, and Sweden; we regularly interact with teams in our offices all around the globe. We offer a flexible remote work policy.
We are an Agile team, using the Kanban methodology for managing our daily work.
Our stakeholders include:
The Product team - we build metrics that help them identify the next great feature, and measure whether or not they’ve hit the mark once it’s released
The Executive team - we provide them with the engagement metrics associated with churned and renewing customers and analyses and recommendations to drive strategy
The Customer Success and Sales teams - we provide them with customer engagement data so that they can identify customers that need help the most
The Business Intelligence Analyst is a cross-functional role, where the core of the position centers around analytics, but also requires strong technical skills related to integrations, ETL, and BI visualizations and analysis.
Our Business Intelligence Analyst will work across our entire life cycle:
Working with our wide range of stakeholders to identify their tracking requirements, and work with our Agile Engineering teams to implement them
Once the data is captured, building ETL tools to update our data warehouse
Analyzing data and building visualizations with tools like Tableau and Amplitude
Coaching our product organization, to help them use our tools to analyze their own teams’ data
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and a demonstrated ability to find creative solutions to technical problems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong SQL skills, and experience with relational databases (Aurora, MySQL)
Database design / data warehouse experience
Advanced skills with at least one BI tool (Tableau, PowerBI, Amplitude, Excel, Looker, etc)
ETL tool experience (Pentaho and similar tools)
Nice to have:
Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) technologies such as Redshift, Aurora, S3
Experience with Segment.io
Experience working in an Agile development environment

The Research & Analytics team is primarily based in San Francisco; we are open to remote candidates that are willing to work Pacific time zone hours, and reside in one of the states listed here. We are not able to offer sponsorship opportunities for work visas at this time.
