Junior Data Analyst

Our talented Stockholm Studio is looking for a game-focused Junior Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team. We are working on new IPs with full force and we also have a very committed team developing the hugely successful title Angry Birds 2 created in Stockholm, a game with a very passionate player base and over 2 million daily active users. This is your chance to take part in shaping the future of our projects and studio!

Our Business Intelligence provides game development teams with information and insight out of game data. This is where your gaming experience comes to use, it will help you when applying data analysis and predictive modelling techniques and tools to solve business problems and to interpret the data you are seeing. This is an excellent opportunity for you to dive head-first to the data and join our mission to make Rovio more analytics driven organization. As a Junior Data Analyst you dedicate majority of your time to game development projects. Your career aspirations and professional growth will be supported by mentoring, trainings and knowledge sharing events held by your senior colleagues.

You will:

  • Work in the Business Intelligence team ensuring that games are configured properly to benefit from game analytics; produce insight and ensure that it is available for game development needs and that it is understood correctly
  • Support product team with up to date dashboards and actionable analysis
  • You will produce reporting and reactive analysis as well as conduct multivariate tests
  • You will communicate your findings to relevant stakeholders in games development, marketing and advertising so that information is used to make better business decisions

Skills & Requirements

Criteria you should fulfill:

  • Master's degree in computer science, statistics or similar. You can also be at the end of your studies
  • Enthusiastic about data and have developed hobby projects that collect, analyse and visualize data
  • Familiar with databases and Big Data technologies (eg. SQL, Hive, Spark, Presto)
  • Knowledge of data programming/scripting with R and/or Python
  • Knowledge of end-to-end data pipeline process
  • Strongly interested in games and games industry
  • Analytical and have a curious mind set
  • Positive and have good attention to detail
  • Excited about analytics and data based decision making
  • Interested of driving to pushing found topics to stakeholders

Bonus if you also have:

  • Experience with scheduling and automating scripts for MYSQL databases
  • Experience with version control (github, SVN, etc.)
  • Experience of applying statistical methods and AB-tests
  • Experienced in digital and mobile business (technical) domains
