Quality Control Associate / Technician
The Quality Control team at Northvolt Labs, Västerås (Sweden) is looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and hardworking Quality Control associate/ technician with chemical or mechanical background to join their team.
You will be working on various quality control analysis and tests of battery materials, both covering process quality controls and incoming quality control inspections.
You will be trained to independently analyse and report analyses results using advanced instruments and equipment in the QC laboratory, learn about the manufacturing process of battery materials and cells and gain knowledge and experience as well as be involved in the method development and validation of QC analyses and troubleshooting/maintenance of advance instruments.
We believe you have studied chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, materials science, chemistry or similar including laboratory work. As a person you are interested in a hands-on career in a quality control laboratory as well as are curious about the world of quality.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Understand and be part of method development and validation. Don’t worry – we will train you!
Operate various analytical equipment such as Karl Fischer titrators, rheometer/viscometers, BET, GC-MS, SEM, particle size analyser, CT scanner, dimension measurement systems, optical microscopes, tensile testers, mechanical sample preparation tools (cutting, polishing, hot/cold mounting).
Improve control checks according to control plan.
Interpret data and report data/results vs specification
Report problems and non-conformities (NCRs) that are detected and recommend the improvements.
Operate various analytical equipment to the likes of: CT scanner, SEM/EDX, CMM, Tensile tester, and perform Mechanical sample preparation
Interpret data and report data/results vs. specification.

Adhere to instrument maintenance routines and applying 5S to the work environment.
Education/Experience
Specific Skills/Abilities
Bachelor´s degree (or technical school degree) in Chemistry, Materials Science or any other related field.
Must-have laboratory experience.
Previous work experience in quality control, quality assurance or an analytical laboratory is a plus.
Curious, technically educated and preferably with a strong business background.
Ability to multitask and possess the foresight to determine future needs.
