Analytics is about connecting people to data. In Analytical Foundations we want to do exactly that. Our vision is to “Enable all the people in Schibsted to leverage any data in Schibsted” and we will head towards that vision by removing friction between data and people throughout the 45+ Brands that make up Schibsted. Foundational capabilities include Analytical Data and Model Governance, Cross Brand Insights, Analytical Platform and Data Warehousing of key Cross Brand domains.
The Schibsted Common Data Warehouse
Our approach to providing all of our colleagues with data that is useful for them in their daily work is not one of centralization but rather of commonization. Through proactive collaboration with partner teams and stakeholders throughout Schibsted we isolate data domains, align on commonalities and remove redundancies by determining domain ownership and responsibilities. Our Common Data Warehouse is being built by many teams as an interconnected, joinable node structure.
Common Data Warehouse Marketplace Team
Schibsted operates market leading Marketplaces across the Nordics including Brands such as FINN.no, Blocket.se and Tori.fi. Data and Analytics are key capabilities within all Schibsted Marketplaces and they all employ highly proficient local teams in this field. Analytical Foundations have in addition established the Common Data Warehouse Core team providing architecture, technical platform and core data domains common to all Schibsted Brands. We are now establishing an additional team within Analytical Foundations to extend on the core data domains with marketplace specific perspectives aiming to remove redundancies across Marketplace teams. The aim is to allow local data teams increased focus on Brand specific business needs while also ensuring alignment, coherency and data accessibility across the Marketplaces.
The Head of Common Data Warehouse Marketplaces will be tasked with building a high performing team of data engineers and self service developers dedicated to delivering friction free, flexible and relevant common data for Marketplaces to leverage and expand on. It is a highly collaborative role that needs to retain close relationships to local Data & Analytics teams, other Foundational Schibsted functions and the CDW Core team, as well as develop a deep understanding of the Marketplaces products and business models. Key marketplace data domains within responsibility are user behaviour, user profiles, classified ads and user transactions.
The role will report directly to the Director of Analytical Foundations and be part of the Schibsted Analytical Foundations leadership team. You will be expected to contribute both strategically and cross-functionally in that context, but also tactically and operationally in the team employing agile approaches while balancing data model coherency.
Applications for both Oslo and Stockholm locations are welcome. The team will tentatively be staffed in the same location as the Head.
