Do you enjoy the combination of strategic thinking and day-to-day problem solving? Are you looking for a chance to take the next step in product management? And do you get excited about the prospect of playing a key part in further developing “the glue” of the Schibsted ecosystem?
Then this may be what you are searching; we, the Schibsted account product team, are looking for a fifth Product Manager to join our growing team and help us in bringing the Schibsted ecosystem to Nordic consumers. If you are an experienced Product Manager who is full of team spirit and looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you!
Who we are and what we do
With over 12 million users in Norway, Sweden and Finland (and soon also Denmark), the Schibsted account product team is responsible for one of the largest login and account solutions in the Nordics. We operate at the core of Schibsted’s digital business model, and are responsible for connecting our users with the over 60 digital consumer brands in the Schibsted universe, including Blocket and Aftonbladet.
Whilst our core is within login and identity, our problem space cuts across a wide range of user and business problems. In addition to being our users’ entry point to the Schibsted universe, we are responsible for establishing our users’ “Schibsted home” and helping to make it easier to transact within and across our brands. We also play a key role in keeping our users’ data secure and mitigating fraud in the various Schibsted services. And as the Schibsted universe continues to expand, we continuously onboard new customers/brands to our product while never forgetting to support the ones that already use us.
These are only some examples of the problems that touch our space; as a key component both in the daily interaction with users, and in various corporate and business strategies across Schibsted, it is pretty safe to say that our days are never boring.
(Psst! If you want to learn more about us, have a listen to this Schibsted Talks podcast by Ida Kristine Norddal, our Senior Product Manager and the Hiring Manager for this position.)
What your responsibilities will be
Figure out the best solutions to prioritised user and business problems, always in close collaboration with engineering, design and relevant stakeholders. In this work, you are accountable for ensuring that the solution to a problem is both valuable and viable
Take the lead in crafting the product strategy and road map for your dedicated problem space, balancing an understanding of the total with clear product choices and objectives
Leverage your drive and organisational “navigation skills” to proactively engage and anchor your work with your stakeholders across the Schibsted organisation
Combine your product management expertise and relentless team focus to help in further raising the bar for product discovery and delivery in the Schibsted account product team
Be a product evangelist for Schibsted account across the Schibsted organisation to build understanding and awareness for product strategy, priorities and plans
Be a true team player in the Schibsted account product team, combining a care for others with direct feedback when needed
What we are looking for
Demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and delivery work
Proven product management experience in solving user and business problems in a product, engineering and design triangle
Demonstrated ability to learn and work with multiple functional areas of business – whether it is engineering, design, business development or customer support
Proven ability to navigate a complex stakeholder environment and engage with company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship
Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to complex problems, using sound judgement to assess risks and to lay out your arguments in a well-structured and data-informed way
A supportive and considerate team player that optimises for the bigger picture and not for individual wins
Degree level qualification in business or technology, or equivalent practical experience
