Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Engineer to join our Construction team in Gdansk.

Teamwork is really important to us. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Construction Project Manager and other functions as well as with external parties. It is important that you have a good track record in planning, forecasting and meeting deadlines. Further, you should have profound knowledge of HSE and Quality requirements and a high standard for your work and your organization.

The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, curious and always eager to learn. We believe you have a background in engineering studies (preferred MEP or I&C) combined with site construction projects. You are naturally a great communicator, keeping a good overview in complex project set-ups and a positive "make-it-work" attitude.

To be seriously considered for this role, please consider that:

  • full-time presence in Gdansk is required.
  • Northvolt is a fast-paced organisation and therefore we need someone with prior experience in complex industrial construction projects.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor the progress, ensuring project plan is moving forward to meet deadlines, foreseeing eventual impacts on the critical path
  • Interact on regular basis with the contractors to ensure that the engineering design and installation is in accordance with agreed schedule
  • Work with the design and interface coordination manager to coordinate the multi-discipline design and installation activities
  • Liaise with on-site services such as scaffolding installation, waste management and lifting activities
  • Review engineering deliverables, comment and initiate appropriate corrective actions whenever required
  • Perform quality control of the works executed at construction site

Full time employment, fixed salary.

Skills & Requirements


  • M.Sc. in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control or Mechanical engineering.
  • Have experience working in construction and design functions on technically complex projects with strong management control.
  • Have strong experience in interdisciplinary coordination of interfaces during engineering and construction phases of the project.
  • Have experience interfacing with equipment suppliers to align on technical requirements and delivery schedules.
  • Be familiar with Polish and European standards, construction laws and technical conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills as the role requires constant interaction with team members and external parties such as contractors, vendors, authorities and auditors.
  • Experience working on international projects and in multi-cultural environments and successes in production building facilities would be a plus

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy.
