The Customer Services organization includes the Professional Services and Customer Support functions, and is made up of more than 550 Basware experts globally.

Professional Services, made up of Project Managers, Solution Architects, Solution and Technical Consultants and Success Services professionals, deliver customer implementation projects and provide services that help Basware customers adopt, optimize and accelerate the benefits of their Basware solutions and services. Customer Support provides professional help to our customers to manage operational and service issues that arise from using our services.

Customer Services draws on our collective expertise so that our customers realize the best possible business outcomes with Basware’s Networked Purchase-to-Pay solutions.

As part of Basware’s professional services organisation, work with industry experts and play a key role in enabling global organisations on their digital transformation journeys!

In the role of solution architect you play a pivotal role throughout the customer lifecycle leading on:

  • advising and guiding prospects and customers on best practice
  • translating customer business needs into end to end solution designs
  • ensuring the Basware solutions are integrated with the customers enterprise architecture
  • securing high standards of quality in the implemented customer solutions
  • helping customers maximise the benefits of the solutions in use

In fulfilling these duties the role is made up of the following responsibilities:


  • Select and apply appropriate methods to guide and define the scope of solutions that that are required to unlock the desired outcomes of prospects and customers.
  • Effectively manage, in collaboration with the project manager, the defined solution scope throughout the delivery of the solution.


  • Develop designs that are both achievable with using standard product features and meet the business and technical requirements of global enterprise customers;
  • Advise in selecting the optimal integration strategy and methods;
  • Document designs and ensure they are fully understood by the customer


  • Provide expert-level advice and guidance on best practice for prospects and customers through all stages of the customer lifecycle
  • Able to solve complex challenges and ensure optimal usage of our solutions


  • Understand and apply solution delivery practices and concepts in a range of environments
  • Guide the build, test and deployment of the Basware solution
  • Secure the quality and sustainability of the implemented solution
  • Lead a technical team through the different phases of the delivery lifecycle


  • Assure solutions or features that are free from errors and deficiencies;
  • Follow the standard Basware delivery quality assurance, principles and/or standards


  • Actively participate in the global Basware architecture community
  • Mentoring of other Basware resources
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining tools, methodologies, templates and best practices

To be successful in this position we would like you to:

  • Have broad knowledge of Source-to-Pay, eInvoicing or related finance \ supply chain processes and concepts;
  • Understand the value proposition of cloud based (Basware) solutions;
  • Have broad knowledge of relevant technology architectures. For example, application integration, networking, information security, cognitive automation, etc.
  • Have a high-level understanding of web and cloud-based go to market technologies.
  • Understand the fundamentals of enterprise applications. Knowledge in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle Financials, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics seen as an advantage.
  • Understand how Analytics / Business Intelligence can be applied to optimize processes and solutions.
  • Be able to approach solution architecture design holistically from end to end.
  • Have excellent presentation skills with a capability of relaying complex ideas in simple terms.
  • Be able to confidently interact with customers at all levels, identify sales opportunities and influence customer buying decisions.
  • Have strong critical thinking skills and ability to objectively analyses facts to form judgements and influence decisions.
  • Be able to travel.

In order to thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, i.e. Computer Science, Economics, Procurement or General Business.
  • Strong, in depth knowledge of design, implementation, and/or solution architect experience with business applications or systems architecture.
  • Experience in Source-to-Pay operations, consulting or technology/software pre-sales.
  • Strong English language
