Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Manufacturing Planning Developer to join our bold, excellent, and passionate team. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building one of the first large-scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon-free society.

As Planning Developer you would focus on supporting the process of designing, procuring and implementing the set-up of capacity, production and material planning to our giga-factory "Northvolt Ett" in Skellefteå and later on any other Northvolt unit. You will be based in Stockholm ,Västerås or Skellefteå and report to Jessica Goguillon, Planning&Logistics Manager.

We:

In broad terms, our mission as Planning&Logistics is to support Northvolt’s growth and expansion with logistical expertise and to create a robust framework, within which Northvolt units can operate.

You:

Generally speaking, we believe that you already have a reasonable level of experience within manufacturing planning. For a few years, you have led equipment capacity studies, identified bottlenecks, secured availability of manning, and ensure material supply capabilities.

You are also adaptable: from designing optimized production schedules and to strategic balancing or customer demands, you can crunch data, have strong analytical skills and lead strategic projects.

Ideally you also have good understanding on how to use, or even better set up, different systems and modules (MRP,ERP,MES) to support manufacturing planning and execution.

As Northvolt develops, so will you and your range of responsibilities.

In your job you will:

  • Be responsible to maintain and improve our material forecasting process

  • Be on top of yield, scrap rate, other manufacturing non-conformity levels, as well as all other relevant manufacturing metrics

  • Create the framework for planning and ordering of time-critical materials to support manufacturing and service organizations, while minimizing logistics costs and maintaining optimal inventory levels (avoid both shortages and overages)

  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives related to execution and scale-up as improved handover points from purchasing to material planning and from material planning to internal customers, inventory optimization scenarios, analytics, and KPI build-out

  • Support system implementation (MRP,MES,ERP)

  • Be an active player in the Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) process

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our two gigafactories: Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden, and Northvolt Zwei in Salzgitter, Germany. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
