We are currently in one of the most exciting times of Northvolt’s, Sweden’s, or even Europe’s industrial history. Over 2000 suppliers are currently working side by side with Northvolt employees to install and commission all production equipment for our first line in our gigafactory Northvolt Ett. With this unique set-up phase we are in, we are excited to offer an equally unique LIA structure for you as an YH student.

The LIA will consist of a mix of practical and theoretical activities. You will get unique insight to the challenges and opportunities of battery manufacturing at Northvolt. Besides learning more about the battery manufacturing process specifically, you will get to work with real challenges relating to process and quality control, health & safety, maintenance, and digitalization. It is our ambition to invite you to do practical work on site, however, the uncertain circumstances surrounding covid and the very special phase, building the gigafactory Northvolt ETT, makes it difficult to make certain promises regarding your daily work during LIA.

Topics during LIA:

  • Onboarding, start of LIA: digital introduction to Northvolt
  • Battery Industry overview and outlook
  • Batteries and sustainability: the role of batteries in creating a greener future
  • Health & Safety at a Gigafactory
  • Quality and Quality Control in battery manufacturing
  • Maintenance; challenges and opportunities

  • Production critical roles in battery manufacturing

  • Recruitment information

  • Test & Interview Workshops

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
