Job Description

We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to lead the development of our Life Sciences Sector. Having recently launched this sector in Ireland it’s a really exciting time to join Sogeti and be a key part of Sogeti’s exponential growth. As the Life Sciences Business Development Manager you will be focused on developing Sogeti’s ERD and IT offerings within the Life Sciences Sector.

You’ll be tasked with developing new relationships, matching customers’ needs to our solutions, and regularly liaising with technical colleagues to present comprehensive proposals to these customers that leverage the technical strengths of the group. You will also be responsible for commercial and contractual negotiations. In this role, you must be able to forecast sales activity and revenue achievement while creating satisfied and referenceable customers.

To thrive in this role, you will keep up with industry trends, competitive landscape and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the Life Sciences Sales Strategy
  • Strategically finding and developing a pipeline of new business opportunities through both new and existing contacts
  • Developing strong and trusted relationships with client stakeholders
  • Understand client issues and challenges, positioning Sogeti services to provide best in class solutions in response
  • Accountability for building proposals that will lead to client engagements
  • Work with delivery and technical teams to ensure the availability of resources to handle project scopes
  • Relationship management between clients, tech teammates and other stakeholders
  • Expertly manage a complex sales cycle, including contract and commercial negotiations
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasts and clear visibility on sales performance
  • Achieve personal and Sector targets
  • Maintain the highest standard of work, working towards the overall success of Sogeti clients

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 6-10 years’ experience as a top-performing consultant and/or sales professional in the Life Sciences sector
  • Unwavering commitment to personal performance, and a history of success exceeding annual sales targets
  • Understanding of new technologies with the ability to define problems, collect data and present solutions
  • Experience selling to technical, product and engineering buyers
  • Ability to navigate large complex organizations
  • Outstanding organizational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all buyer personas (individual contributor to C-level)
  • Experience running a logical and methodical sales process
  • Intellectual curiosity; someone who strives to understand everything about the market and the needs of our customers in order to provide a compelling solution
  • Consultative selling attitude and style
