What would you get to do?

As an Android Developer your main responsibility is to work on our Tori native Android application with Kotlin and add exciting new features. You will contribute to the development of our own frameworks (UI, network, messaging) to deliver product specific functionality and also to the specification of REST APIs for Mobile apps. You will work in a cross-functional team with other mobile developers, UX designers, backend developers and business owners.

Part of your daily work is optimisation and performance analysis of Kotlin code. Testability is always in your mind, when designing new features. You will create unit and integration tests with code coverage. Being curious is one of our values, so we really want to encourage you to be creative and experiment with new solutions, of course with a pragmatic and committed mindset to the code quality and maintainability.

Skills & Requirements

What are we looking for?

  • Background as Android Developer. You have gained relevant work experience for a few years and you have a degree in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.

  • You have programming experience in Kotlin.

  • You have a good understanding of MVVM, Clean architecture and SOLID principles and of networking, caching of local data and multitasking on Android.

  • Good understanding of Android debugging tools, performance profilers and benchmarking libs for example memory leaks.

  • Experience in developing applications that interact with REST services.

  • Understanding of reactive programming, RxJava/Coroutines/Flowables.

  • You have a creative problem-solver mindset and you're open-minded and curious towards other platforms and services. You know what makes a good REST API for mobile apps and have a good understanding on the Android platform and how to write great UI code.

  • You are fluent in written and spoken English, since it is our company language.

These are seen as a strong plus:

  • Experience in writing UI Libraries on Android and attention to details, both in code and design/UX.

  • Experience with software development best practices and agile methodologies.

  • You are familiar with application release using Travis CI/CD or others.

  • You have good understanding of software design patterns and MVI Architecture and you have experience in multiplatform programming with Kotlin.
