General summary

Bonnier Books UK is looking for a senior brand and communication designer who can demonstrate strong strategic and creative thinking.

Organised and collaborative, you will have a creative portfolio demonstrating significant experience of brand design and proven experience of leading projects independently, presenting work and developing strong relationships.

As senior brand designer, you will lead on a brand refresh for Bonnier Books UK, while also working collaboratively with teams across the business to strengthen and refine the visual identities of our imprints.

Essential job functions/responsibilities

  • Work with the brand and communications director to set the direction for the Bonnier Books UK brand and design
  • Lead a brand refresh for Bonnier Books UK, working to a creative brief
  • Updating the company’s existing brand guidelines so they are clear, workable, and fit for purpose
  • Collaborate with publishing teams to refine and strengthen the visual identities of the company’s imprints
  • Effectively manage senior stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are carefully managed and their creative interpretation is appropriately challenged
  • Present finalised ideas and concepts as required, explaining clearly and confidently how the creative work responds to the brief
  • Ability to move quickly from creative concepts to the practical solution required
  • Deliver a consistent Bonnier Books UK brand and experience, via all corporate elements including slide decks, digital assets and business stationery
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications and experience

  • A creative portfolio demonstrating significant experience of brand design, ideally across a range of clients in different sectors
  • Proven experience of delivering work to a variety of creative briefs
  • An ability to influence at every level and confident explaining creative ideas
  • Proven experience of developing brand design concepts across a range of media, ensuring a consistent visual identity and strong overall message
  • Proficient knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • An excellent eye for typography
