Marketing business function is responsible for guiding prospects & customers throughout their journey with Basware. Through providing thought leading insights, practical advice, and a roadmap for automation, in partnership with our Sales function, we enable organizations to simplify operations, spend smarter and drive the transformation of their Finance & Procurement functions. Leveraging industry leading marketing platforms including Hubspot, LeadForensics, and many more, we activate multi-channel marketing programs to help prospects get informed, build their business case, select the right-fit solutions, and ensure our customers get the most value from their Basware solutions.

Business development is a key function within the marketing team.

The Business Development Representative will identify business opportunities by developing new prospects and interacting with existing customers in order to increase interest and qualify leads for the Field Sales team. You will have a keen understanding of Basware’s product offerings, and the ability to communicate our value to contacts in different functions within multiple industries.

Key responsibilities

  • Prospect and build a sales pipeline for the Account Executive team by engaging with marketing qualified leads via phone, social, and email communications across the BeNe region
  • Qualify leads based on business fit, problem to be solved, the relevance of contact, etc.
  • Help prospects to identify and sharpen their needs and mapping those needs with Basware Solutions
  • Develop relationships with prospect and expanding our reach and understanding their critical issues, business initiatives, stakeholders of the buying center, and their buyers' journey status
  • Drive leads through the early stages of the sales process by regularly communicating with prospects, sending appropriate content, and hosting high-level demos
  • Handover qualified leads to the Account Executive team at an appropriate maturity status, initiating calls and face-to-face appointments with Account Executives
  • Follow up with each Account Executive to discuss the result of respective meetings, and follow up appropriately to close the loop
  • Consistently log and record each outreach made in Hubspot and CRM and be able to report back on progress and outcomes
  • Act as a bridge between Marketing and Sales. Be cognizant of each marketing initiative, and work toward corporate objectives

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role with a sales track record
    • Worked in a front-line B2B telephone sales or telemarketing role within an enterprise SaaS vendor environment, including lead nurturing, appointment setting, and pipeline development. (All candidates who may not have this experience but can demonstrate the skills to the level required may apply and will be considered.)
  • Understanding of the buyer’s journey and the principles of value-based solution selling
    • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, policies, and procedures within the procurement and accounts payable industry
  • Ability to comprehend the Basware product line and to communicate our value proposition to prospects
  • Self-starting with solid follow-through and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and occasionally challenging workload
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Strong data management and research skills
  • Interact effectively with all levels of management and staff, internally and externally
  • Adaptable, professional, courteous, and highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed, and works well individually and as a member of a team
  • Fluent in English & French and native speaker in Dutch
  • Excellent presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Dynamics CRM or similar CRM systems preferred
