Corporate Functions has skilled and development-oriented people working across the world in all of Basware’s 14 countries, with truly global ways of working, and consists of Digital Office, Finance, Human Resources, Administration, Legal and Sourcing teams.

Together with other Basware units, Corporate Functions ensures that our customers can successfully meet their business objectives through cooperating with Basware and using our product and service portfolio.

We are now looking for Senior Security Specialist to join our team.

The Security team at Basware focuses on the protection of assets against internal and external threats to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

In the role of a Senior Security Specialist, your main duties will be to ensure accurate protection of assets by leading and performing Security Assessments and leading Vulnerability Management to find vulnerabilities and threats across networks, applications, IT-infrastructure, and cloud environments. This will include:

  • Lead both internal and external security assessments as a project manager
  • Provide experts and senior leaders with solid insights on the security posture
  • Perform hands-on security assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability and risk assessments using relevant software, as well as by developing and scripting own tools to identify threats and vulnerabilities
  • Research emerging security topics and new attack vectors
  • Lead and support on Vulnerability Management to ensure vulnerabilities are properly addressed
  • Evaluate vulnerabilities, threats, and other findings to determine the impact, risk, and threat for Basware
  • Perform threat modelling, risk assessment and other analyses
  • Analyze, design, and propose proper mitigation, treatment, and security measures

You will also drive and participate in development projects to ensure continuous improvement of processes, tools and solutions, advice internal stakeholders on security topics and perform other security tasks assigned to you.

When the situation is back to normal, you will occasionally be traveling mainly to other Basware locations when needed.

You will collaborate with external partners, customers, and different organizational units including product management, R&D, production/operations to fulfill tasks assigned to you.

Skills & Requirements

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Previous work experience in penetration testing or similar technical security assessment role
  • Strong technical knowledge of, and minimum 5 years of technical experience working with IT systems, cloud environments, networks, applications, and ICT infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments
  • Experience in leading projects, development activities or key initiatives
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders
  • Ability to create processes and documentation, lead assessment projects and perform hands-on testing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

We furthermore value if you have some of the following:

  • Several years of hands-on penetration testing experience
  • Experience of attacker techniques, tools, threat landscape, and tactics to provide suggestions on preventive measures
  • Experience with security tools, such as NMAP, Metasploit, Nessus, Kali Linux, Cobol Strike and Core Impact
  • Experience with code analysis, malware analysis and data breach investigations
  • Experience working with security best practices such as OWASP TOP 10 and NIST
  • Experience in designing measures to address and improve the security posture of the environment
  • Experience in software development and scripting
  • Certifications such as:
    • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
    • Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE)
    • Offensive Security Web Expert (OSWE)
    • Penetration Tester (GPEN)
    • Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT)
    • Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
    • Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)
