F-Secure Consulting is looking for a driven Account Director to join its New York team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in helping organizations to overcome some of the most complex cyber security challenges they face, build resilience against cyber-attacks into their business operations, and realize positive security outcomes in an increasingly digitized world.

We are looking for an individual to operate in a commercially oriented, client facing role. You’ll be tasked with working alongside the team of Account Directors to help grow our client base predominantly in the northeast region of the US (but not limited to that for the right clients) and as time progresses and you develop a book of accounts you will transition your focus to maintaining and developing them into strategic accounts within the business. We operate a win and retain model in the US so the better you are at building relationships and bringing on new clients the more successful you’re likely to be in the long term in the role!

Key Responsibilities

The Account Director role within F-Secure is responsible for driving new sales and revenue from prospective and existing client accounts within the assigned verticals. The Account Director sells solutions through prospecting, networking and executing on account plans. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:

  • Build a deep understanding of a portfolio of prospects and accounts within the verticals to which they are aligned. Use various means, including research techniques and account planning frameworks, to map clients in terms of people, technology, and business strategy.
  • Develop cyber security expertise and apply that context to all account planning and account plan execution activities.
  • Guide and support the process of producing insight for a portfolio of clients by identifying, understanding and matching clients’ key business drivers with information sources including F-Secure research, information on likely threat actors (attackers), and other industry trends.
  • Work closely with others including Marketing, Commercial Enablement, and the Consultancy at large to build support for achieving growth in a portfolio of accounts.
  • Apply insight and other means to initiate constructive conversations with clients, build credibility within their businesses, and identify mutually beneficial opportunities. Undertake this objective using a consistent and methodical approach on a day-to-day basis, demonstrating constant progress.
  • Articulate to clients F-Secure’s broad value proposition and be able to tailor this in-line with the client’s wider business strategy and security requirements.
  • Own the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation through to closing. Collaborate with other internal stakeholders to help manage the successful delivery of engagements (e.g., project management resource, technical resource, etc.) and ensure F-Secure’s clients receive the greatest possible value.
  • Consistently review performance against target. Forecast personal sales and monitor personal performance against targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Achieve the individual sales target set with the VP of Global Sales and Managing Director, US.

What are we looking for?


  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a comparable B2B sales role (professional services preferred).
  • An appetite for learning and constantly evolving in line with the pace of evolution in the cyber security landscape.
  • The ability to build a deep understanding of a portfolio of accounts and the verticals to which they are aligned in order to add value to clients and go beyond a ‘transactional’ relationship.
  • The ability to develop and build credibility within client organizations – including in remote settings – and undertake this objective using a consistent and methodical approach on a day-to-day basis, demonstrating constant progress.
  • A consultative approach to demand generation. F-Secure is passionate about helping its clients to solve their most complex cyber security challenges and the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to uncover challenges of this nature as opportunities for providing clients with significant value.
  • A preference for self-motivation. While the successful candidate will be supported extensively by colleagues in the pursuit of goals that are mutually beneficial for F-Secure and its clients, the candidate should be able to lead and orchestrate others – including teams with differing characteristics – towards the realization of these goals and should be enthused by this prospect.
  • The ability to think and plan strategically. Specifically, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to build a clear vision, plan and articulate a strategy for realizing that vision, and design and implement tactical plans for the purposes of execution.
  • Applied understanding of one or more recognized sales methodologies and the ability to discuss how to achieve targets given a differing set of sales scenarios.
  • An inclination to leverage the power of “many to many” business relationships in your efforts to win business, ensuring that no target account is exposed by a single relationship and that F-Secure's clients benefit from a broad set of relationships at multiple levels.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to keep all parties (internal and external) updated and on track with developments in pursuit of mutually beneficial outcomes for F-Secure and its clients.
  • The ability to work closely with the executive team to plan and control our growth and manage expectations accordingly.
