Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Legal Counsel to join our bold legal team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. You will have the opportunity to be part of building a competent and dependable legal team, capable of scaling Northvolt’s operations in Sweden and beyond. Given the timing of you joining Northvolt and the early stage in which the company is in currently, you will be given a unique opportunity to have great impact in the development of a new company and industry in Sweden.

You will work with the corporate team within legal and main responsibilities will be related to incentive programs, M&A transactions, all sorts of corporate related actions and it is of high importance that you have good knowledge of the corporate act and have previously worked with management incentive programs. In addition you will support all different teams at Northvolt where needed within a wide range of legal matters. Your work will consist of, but is not limited to:

  • Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting different kind of commercial agreements and consulting agreements in both English and Swedish
  • Drafting and oversee Northvolt’s different management incentive programs and work on transaction-like projects
  • Providing input on incentive and employment related matters
  • Managing and optimizing risks
  • Template building and compliance implementation
  • Handling corporate law related disputes and litigations

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Degree of Master of Laws
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience from a reputable law firm and/or an industrial company
  • You have previously worked with general corporate law and have extensive experience of reviewing and drafting commercial agreements.
  • Good knowledge of and interest in corporate law matters and management incentive programs is a requirement
  • Knowledge of M&A, joint ventures, equity and capital market and employment law matters is meritorious
  • You are a business-oriented team player with good social skills
  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills, Swedish is a plus

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.
