Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Fire Safety Engineer - Construction to join our bold team in Skellefteå.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories by being a design engineer in the field of fire safety and work during the construction phase at Northvolt Ett.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive design and engineering topics together with involved staff and external parties.
  • Review and produce fire safety related documentation and drawings
  • Review and produce ATEX-related documentations and classification reports.
  • Create and follow-up on-site construction fire safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day construction related fire protection work.
  • Report and investigate fire safety related incidents, accidents, etc.
  • Compile reports on fire protection work to the management, authorities etc.
  • Perform and participate in risk assessments of working methods, equipment, or premises.
  • Responsible for budget issues related to fire safety during construction

Full time employment, fixed salary.

Skills & Requirements


  • Completed fire engineer education
  • Relevant experience working on industrial projects or research industry
  • Experience with CAD/3D modelling (preferred)
  • High level of knowledge of national and international standards and regulations governing fire safety
  • Experience with ATEX classification plans and calculations
  • Knowledge of the CE-marking process and regulations (preferred)
