Sales Finance Key accounts are merchants that are typically smaller chains to single merchants. This cluster and group contribute for a large and important share of Santander NBV. The key will be to operate with a very high degree of Sales Force Effectiveness and to balance that with a competitive merchant satisfaction.

Key responsibility

As Key Account manager you are responsible for sales, assets and ultimately in the profitability for appointed clients including offline/POS and online/e-commerce/checkout lending. Responsible for setting and executing on tactical client management plans with primary focus on the key account. Responsible for ensuring targeted and profitable cross sales on the portfolio.

Expected performance objectives

Key account development

  • Manage sustainable growth and product and key
    account profitability (Profit and Loss accountability)
  • Creating and delivering on tactical plan for appointed key accounts.
  • Product optimization and development to secure profitable transition from new customer (early lifecycle) to repeat customers

Sales execution

  • Execute on sales strategy
  • Build strong and healthy relationships with appointed clients
  • Implement and develop efficient and standardized sales processes
  • Maintain a high class Sales Force effectiveness
  • Increased sales per sales per customer
  • Ensure key accounts plans that secure optimized execution of current client agreement as well as positioning for re-negotiations.

Other activities

  • Training of stores mainly remote but includes physical store visits
  • Coaching, goal setting, monitoring and follow-up with store reps at all levels
  • Work with all Commercial functions to secure solid collaboration and teamwork


  • Enjoys selling and negotiating - influences others and wins their support
  • Is talkative, lively and sociable - enjoys being in groups and has a wide network of contacts
  • Is pragmatic and target-oriented in approach - focuses on reaching results; solves problems quickly and effectively
  • Is systematic and well organized - defines clear priorities; plans well ahead and with realistic time-scales
  • Quickly grasps complex issues and problems - identifies the core of a problem; evaluates information thoroughly
  • Shows drive and determination - takes an energetic approach to work; remains focused and in control under pressure

Competence and Skills

  • Communicates in a clear, precise and structured way - speaks with authority and conviction; presents effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills – proven ability to build relationships, trust and credibility with all levels at clients and Santander
  • Co-operates well with others - shares knowledge, experience and information; supports others in the pursuit of team goals
  • Significant understanding of B2B business with strong analytical mindset (Traditional SF / multichannel / E-commerce)
  • Fluent in English
  • Very Strong skills in MS Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong business and product understanding (Incl portfolio dynamics and pricing)
  • Relevant commercial experience from eCommerce field
