Northvolt has an exciting job offer for Discipline Lead - Procurment / Commercial to work in Gdansk/Poland. We are looking for construction proffesional with a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience working in a cost role on large high-tech projects.

You will be working on the commercial settlement for our greenfield project for a new battery system production facility in Poland.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage Change control and negotiate change orders along with construction management throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Negotiate contruction contracts on behalf of Northvolt.
  • Track all contracts and facilitate business during the project life cycle.
  • Validate contractor invoices and claims in relation to the contract T&C’s.
  • Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations to drive fair contract prices and terms to the benefit of client.
  • Partcipate in weekly project reviews/Schedule meetings.
  • Contract adminstration (retention, T&C’s, insurance, contingency, incentives).
  • Monitor schedule progress (actual vs forecast) along with project planners in line with Contract terms.
  • Attend risk meetings and maintain risk log.
  • Review and participate with the design services team and contractors, in the development of the contract scope.
  • Reconcile changes and assist the contractors to ensure that their data is accurate.
  • Communicate or meet with contractors and project managers to gather status information.
  • Prepare written comments to the contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary.
  • Coordinate with contractors and their sub-contractors relating to document control and maintain register.
  • Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
  • Work proactively with minimal supervision to resolve scheduling issues.
  • Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
  • Manage Cost impact / contingency management and commitment tracking logs.

Skills & Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Solid technical experience in all cost mangement areas, planning, estimating, pre-contract, post contract and final account.
  • Fidic and local Polish Contract experience.
  • Arbitration and dispute resolution experience.

Specific Skills/Abilities:

  • Bsc/Msc in Quantity Surveying, Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills

  • Analytical skills

  • Proficient in MS suite

  • Passion and enthusiasm for construction and numbers.
