Fullstack Software Engineer

Meltwater is looking for an experienced fullstack developer that will work on exposing our AI analytics to our Media Intelligence web applications. We are looking for a developer who is comfortable building responsive front-end interfaces as well as working on backend API services.

We're looking for a self-starting, fast-learning engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of or desire to learn microservices architecture and be comfortable working with front-end technologies to meet the functional and scalability requirements of our products. We offer total ownership of your team's products and your day-to-day will be jam-packed with opportunities to learn new technologies and grow as an engineer. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and implementation of scalable web applications

  • Be accountable for all aspects of your work, from research and analysis to testing and deployment in production as well as on-call rotation.

  • Write code that your peers praise for its elegance and readability.

  • Interface with Data Science and application teams.

This is a remote first work opportunity with a distributed team (in the Americas time zones).

Skills & Requirements

Must haves

  • Strong working knowledge of Javascript (NodeJS) as well as skill set in developing with the latest web standards, including HTML5 and CSS3

  • Solid understanding of web frameworks and libraries (e.g React, Angular)

  • Experience with building and running large-scale applications

  • Experience with AWS managed services (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, S3)

  • Good knowledge of Linux based systems

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation), CI/CD tools (e.g. Drone, CircleCI), configuration management, dependency management, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Understanding of web performance and optimization techniques and proper end-to-end testing of web applications.

  • Good knowledge of the serverless mindset, event-driven architecture, and microservices

Nice to haves

  • Experience with web components

  • Experience with the Serverless Framework

  • Experience with Agile software development and working within defined project management methodologies and timelines

  • Experience with web accessibility

  • Interest and experience with web design and user experience


  • A degree, or equivalent qualification, in computer science or a related discipline.
