Would you like to break new ground and contribute to a fresh project without the burdens of old legacy code? (We only have new legacy code!)
As a Game System Developer here at Toca Boca you will be part of a growing team in delivering our most ambitious project ever - a friendly multiplayer world for children where they can feel safe, creative and be able to express themselves.
We are trying so many new, cool things on this project - building a multiplayer game from scratch, creating a realtime 3D playground with player avatars and world building. You will join during our early access/soft launch period where we gather as much input as possible from our users, the kids.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be hands on in helping Toca Boca on our journey to becoming an online multiplayer games-as-a-service studio.
Your responsibility will be to design and develop systems and services that contribute to the back-bone of the game, from specific gameplay to more generic data processing and the like. You’ll help ensure long-term development speed and confidence by incorporating industry best practices in both software design and architecture.
You’ll be the bridge between the gameplay features the players interact with and the back-end services used by the game server.
Is this you?
You’re a developer with experience in C# and the Unity game engine. You’re comfortable working with some low-level networking over UDP and contributing to a standard networking layer for the game.
You’re used to working in an agile and collaborative atmosphere. You’re open to changes and adjustments/iterations of team ways of working.
This is us!
