Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Wire harness design engineer to join our passionate team in Stockholm. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The team you would join will primarily support the Battery Systems customer projects with creating an electrical distribution system.

You will be working closely with the Mechanical, Electromechanical, Purchasing, Systems, Hardware, Testing, Validation and Manufacturing team to design the next generation of battery packs and modules.

Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with wire harness as well as product development.

About the team

The team you would join will primarily support the Battery Systems customer projects where we do wiring/cable harness design, packaging of electrical components, electrical sub system design for various products.
The Electrical Engineering team with 7 Engineers based at Stockholm and we as a team are thrilled and working efficiently to focus on one goal to build cleaner world. And we are eagerly happy to welcome you to our team to join our mission.

*Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: *

  • Develop electro-mechanical design of wire harnesses for our battery systems.
  • Packaging of electrical components in 3D NX cad environment considering design, manufacturing, assembly and aftermarket maintenance requirements.
  • Develop harness design solutions in 3D NX cad environment and manage design objectives as well as adhere to internal and external design standards and requirements.
  • Perform analysis and support physical validation of harness with respect to thermal, loads, shock and vibration.
  • Document and communicate the design through design reviews.
  • Create and release BOM and design documentations for manufacturing.
  • Life cycle management of harness design and change management documentations.
  • Perform R&D investigations to push wire harnesses boundaries to increase Safety, Quality, Mass and Cost saving.
  • Build, develop and maintain relations with key stakeholders such as design engineers, productions processors, purchasing and suppliers

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • A Bsc/Msc degree in Electrical Engineering/Industrial Engineering/Relevant University Degree
  • Experience working in wire harness 3D design and electrical component packaging.
  • Preferred experience in NX, or other relevant CAD software for harness 3D design.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in industry standards such as UL, IEC, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge in reading and understanding schematics design.
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment.
