Who we are

Meltwater is a global company providing solutions that help our customers make more informed decisions by the massive amount of data we collect, curate and enrich. We have products ranging from Media monitoring to Social Media engagement and analytics that allow our customers to keep a pulse on what is happening in this ever changing fast-paced world. We also pride ourselves on our culture believing in people and providing all the resources needed to succeed.

We believe that culture is so much more than what we say on our website. It is in our DNA as a company and has fuelled our growth and success for nearly twenty years. It is something that we take seriously, and something that we have great pride in. We strive to create an environment where our people are motivated by their colleagues to discover new strengths and shine even brighter. We keep our entrepreneurial spirit alive within every team and every department—delighting in hard work and relishing the feeling of accomplishment that comes with it.

What you’ll do

Have you ever spent time on social media? We are the team behind the curtain monitoring and analyzing how users interact with brands on different social media platforms. We primarily work with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn APIs with plans to add additional channels in the near future. You will be joining the social media analytics team, where we bring all of the data together in predefined reports for our customers to understand engagement with their brands.

Our Tech Stack:

We are a tech agnostic company, and our service is built in a wide range of technologies. In this team, the stack consists heavily of Python, SQS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Elastic Search, and AngularJS (though we are moving towards framework agnostic Stencil and native web components) deployed and orchestrated with Docker, K8s and Drone.

Our applications are deployed in AWS cloud, and we take great pride in the DevOps mindset and skills that allow us to manage all of these resources as a team. One of our core principles is that we stick together. This is how we approach the problems we solve as well.

This role will be good fit for someone who:

  • Has an appetite for learning and trying new things. We encourage research, experimentation and we value learning from failure as much as success. If you do as well, then you’ll have a lot of opportunities here.

  • Loves creating a good user experience. We build solutions for our customers with empathy and try to always approach problems from our user’s perspective.

  • Has some experience. For this position 1+ years of experience would be great, but fresh graduates or candidates with equivalent foundational computer science or software engineering knowledge are also welcome.

  • Likes being a generalist. We’re a small team, so there will be plenty of opportunities to touch all levels of the stack — the ideal candidate would enjoy a bit of variety in their work.

  • Values clear, open communication. We see clear and thoughtful communication (including a willingness to give & receive feedback) as a fundamental engineering skill.

Where we can Hire

Our Social engineering teams are primarily based in our offices in Raleigh, NC and Manchester, NH, however we are open to remote candidates that are willing to work across the Eastern Timezone and reside in one of the states listed here: https://www.meltwater.com/en/about/contact-us. We are not able to offer sponsorship opportunities for work visas at this time.
