Products, R&D and Production business function is responsible for ensuring that Basware continues to provide its customers with industry leading SaaS solutions to simplify operations and spend smarter. This global function creates and executes the product strategy, new product innovations, roadmap, design, product development and product launches for Basware’s global product portfolio. Together with other Basware units, Products, R&D and Production ensures that our customers can successfully meet their business objectives through cooperating with Basware and using our product and service portfolio.

Senior Cloud Operations Engineer will manage mission critical processes that ensure the integrity of the service, such as Change Management, Uptime Reporting, Supplier Management activities. They will also actively drive and coordinate the development of new processes, and support Production engineers. This member will be the go-to-person for managing significant service events such as outages, security incidents, releases, audits where technical domain knowledge and overall customer facing experience, and strong communications skills are required. Senior Cloud Operation Engineer is involved in trainings, coaching and guidance for the other junior engineers. Should be able to coordinate other engineers, having a lead role in case of some particular or critical operations cases (customer migrations, outages, etc), in case of important changes in the Operation tools or in case of new services (where new processes are needed)

Skills & Requirements

Our cloud applications are hosted on top of AWS Public Cloud and are used by our clients all around the world. We develop our applications by using technologies like Angular, TypeScript, .NET, Python, Java and RabbitMQ. We use following state-of-the-art tools to develop and deliver our applications into production: Git, Stash, Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Robot Framework, Selenium, and Docker. We also follow modern DevOps culture in everyday work we do and utilize DevOps practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery in building our Microservice based applications.

What we are expecting from you

  • Experience 7 plus years.

  • Experience being part of release teams in a service-based organization.

  • Experience working on monthly release cycles with proven ability to work under time critical production outages.

  • Experience handling production platform servers, change management process, Root-cause Analysis.

  • Experience troubleshooting complex platform and infrastructure issues.

  • Experience driving investigations in time critical situations such as production service outages.

  • Proven analytical and investigative skills.

  • Self-sufficient, with a pro-active attitude, and ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.

  • Proficient English language skills

  • Experiencing in mentoring other team members in processes and technical knowledge development.

  • Inclination towards problem solving and quality improvements through corrective actions and fixes.

  • Strong acumen in time critical pressure situations like escalation tickets, and service outages.

  • Experience working in ITIL processes

  • Experience working with and coordinating cross functional teams operating across different regions and time zones.
