Northvolt has an exciting job opportunity within Project Logistics, working closely with the central team in Sweden, to be based in China. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building the first European lithium-ion battery giga-factory, Northvolt Ett. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Project Logistics Specialist’s primary focus will be co-ordinating shipments of Northvolt’s process equipment from our equipment vendors in China primarily, but also Korea and Japan.

Spanning the Northvolt Project Logistics team in Sweden to the vendors and Logistics Service Provider’s at cargo origins, this role will be vital to ensure the Project Logistics mission with the highest focus on QHSE, schedule and budget.

Primarily working from our equipment vendors locations this role will be hands on and require excellent communication skills as well as detailed knowledge of packaging, and international transport with a high focus on out of gauge shipments.

In close co-operation with Northvolt Central Project Logistics Team, you will:

  • Plan and communicate upcoming shipments

  • Liaise with equipment vendors on all aspects of packaging and transportation

  • Ensure compliance to the agreed terms of the equipment vendor in all topics related to logistics

  • Investigate suitable transport methods

  • Work closely with LSP’s

  • Document and communicate progress

  • Work on constant improvement and optimisation solutions

  • Ensure quality and schedule are maintained

  • Work in multiple operational locations including vendor production facilities predominantly in Wuxi and Yantian among locations in China as well as potentially in Korea and Japan

  • Attend loadings in multiple ports when require

Additionally, you will spend some time assisting Material and Finishes Goods logistics teams with operational and administrative issues arising in Asia.

Skills & Requirements

You are or you have:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Chinese and English with the ability to prepare and deliver concise understandable information to co-workers, contractors and other stakeholders and ensure collaboration between the involved parties.

  • Strong time management capabilities with the ability to maintain workflow while switching quickly between tasks,

  • Excellent knowledge of ocean transportation methods

  • Good knowledge of packaging methods

  • Experience working with a high standard of QHSE

  • Problem-solving, entrepreneurial attitude thriving in a dynamic environment where no day is like the other (we mean it!)

  • Self-motivated and proactive and a natural when it comes to establishing new relationships!

  • Good IT literacy, predominantly within Microsoft Office
