Schibsted Data Foundations are solving exciting problems at scale, spanning from gathering up to a billion events per day while keeping users' privacy and data security in mind, to building high-quality predictive machine learning models. Our services are powering critical use-cases in Schibsted such as producing insights about our customers, segments for the online advertising on our sites, and personalization of our news.

We are looking for a Product Designer to ensure our users get the best possible experience for our 3 user-facing products. The department consists of 5 teams who in sum manage the entire data management platform for Schibsted. Together, the teams collect data, manage the data lake, build machine learning models and provide segmentation capabilities. These segments are used across all brands in Schibsted in four countries for a variety of purposes, from the personalization of news to targeted advertising.

As a Product Designer within Data Foundations, you work closely with both product and tech teams in all phases of product development from research, wireframing/prototyping, design, and user testing. The products we deliver help Schibsted’s employees and companies manage users, content, and transaction data, access control, and segmentation for a whole host of purposes, ranging from newsroom personalization, insights, or advertising. This makes the role challenging because the users interacting with our products range from developers, business analysts to sales.

We’re a happy UX family of 46 across Oslo and Stockholm, and we’re growing. Our teams include Visual Designers, UX Designers, and UX Researchers. We have regular meetups, and we have a great UX community where we grow and learn together.

In this role you will:

  • Be the voice of the user in Data Foundations

  • Report to Director of Product and be part of the product team

  • Help define the user model and user interface for new and existing products and features in Data Foundations

  • Create new designs (e.g., user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes) and communicate design intent

  • Conduct user research and take actions on the insights

  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team and be willing to explore all options

  • Gauge the usability of new and existing products and make constructive suggestions for change

  • Participate in the broader Schibsted UX community - contributing your knowledge and fostering collaboration

About you:

  • You can share a design portfolio, with 3+ years of experience designing web applications

  • BA/BS degree in Design (interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • You have experience in deriving on the full range of UX, from research, testing, interviews, and prototyping and design

  • You can operate autonomously but thrive within a team environment

  • You have a can-do attitude and are positive

  • Ideally, you have some HTML and CSS skills
