Job Title: Head of Digital Marketing, Embla Books

Hours Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Location: UK-based role: London office, with flexible working up to three days per week from home

Reports to: Digital and Business Development Director

Start date: asap

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 p.a. or depending on experience

Bonnier Books UK has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Head of Digital Marketing to join its digital-first imprint, Embla Books, on launch.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for shaping the marketing strategy for the authors and books published by Embla Books and for building our authors’ audiences online. You will lead and inspire our team to continuously innovate on behalf of our authors and find new ways to connect stories and customers. You will be part of a small but ambitious team from the start, and will have a lot of autonomy and scope to make your mark.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive digital marketing expertise and a track record of building successful direct-to-consumer campaigns across online channels. They will have a passion for stories and storytelling – whether books, TV, film, advertising etc. They will be creative, commercially minded and action-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Underpinning all of this, they will be adept at using data to inform decisions, optimise, and deliver results.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Embla Books’ editorial team, you will be responsible for creating an overarching digital marketing strategy and framework for the imprint, that includes social media, email marketing, affiliates, paid search, and Amazon marketing services.
  • You will be responsible for creating and delivering on clear and effective marketing plans, and for driving sales and revenue for all the books published by the imprint.
  • You will help to build a strong online community for Embla Books through blogger outreach and organic social media.
  • You will work directly with authors, and provide support for their own digital marketing activities, where relevant.
  • You will report on performance, set KPIs, and provide ongoing analysis of marketing campaigns to inform our marketing and publishing decisions.
  • You will monitor digital marketing trends and innovations, sharing learnings and best practices with the broader Bonnier Books UK marketing team.
