Job Scope

The Quality Control Area manager is responsible to plan, manage and coordinate the daily activities of a team within the broader Laboratories Quality team at Northvolt ETT. This includes ensuring the execution of the control plan, both the logistics and successful testing of cells, as well as collaborating with stakeholders from production/quality/logistics/R&D/cell design to support them as best as possible in terms of their daily testing needs and requirements. Additionally, the Area Manager’s responsibility is to maximise the use of available resources (personnel, equipment, material), build a strong and talented team that can meet the high demands of our internal customers in terms of quality, efficiency, and turn-around time of results.

Key Responsibilities
The Quality Control Area Manager has a broad range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Building and leading their team. This includes all aspects of team leadership such as hiring, training, and performance management as well as administrative tasks such as schedule and attendance management.
  • Managing the operations of an advanced battery testing lab. This includes overseeing the execution of all quality control analyses within their area, managing the logistics of incoming and outgoing samples, and leading handling of deviations.
  • Ensuring operational Excellence within their area. This includes ownership of all safety requirements and equipment handling standards for themselves and the team; Driving continuous improvement activities within their team and lab; Ensuring adherence to existing SOP's and standards within the Lab and company.

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications /E xperience

  • 3+ years leading and coordinating teams in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting analytical instruments/equipment
  • Knowledgeable in Lean and six sigma
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, e.g., ISO 9001, IATF16949, TQM
  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus.
