Northvolt has an exciting job offer for Discipline Lead Sanitary/HVAC to work in Gdansk/Poland. We are looking for self-driven, technically competent, and savvy engineer leads to join our in-house construction design and engineering team.

You will be working on the design for our greenfield project for a new battery system production facility in Poland. For this new facility, the design will be most performed by external contractors. You will be responsible to review and approve their design and engineering work through design reviews and engineering documentation review.

As a Discipline Lead at Northvolt you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Cooperation with internal stakeholders to gather functional requirements for the facility.

  • Interface with external consultants to ensure these requirements are understood and form the basis of the discipline design.

  • Ensure that the design and engineering work for the discipline is progressing as scheduled (work done by Northvolt and contractor teams).

  • Coordination regularly with other engineering disciplines to ensure design coherence.

  • Supporting the project as needed during building permit review and approval phase. Design coordination and supervision.

  • Supporting the field execution teams during construction phases.

Your presence on site will be key to support in decisions and technical know how during execution phase of the project.

A part of your assignment will also be to interact with internal stakeholders such as process engineers where your work will be carried out in a highly international context.

The role reports to the Battery System Facility Design Manager in construction and will work closely with battery system industrialization team.

We believe you are experienced in designing large scale industrial buildings and also been taking part in the execution phase. You have a working knowledge of polish building law, permitting process and local technical regulations. Having a design and construction license would be an asset.

Full time employment, fixed salary.

Skills & Requirements


  • A degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience from working in construction design and the successful coordination of such
  • Familiarity with industrial facilities, such as manufacturing site as well as previous participation in the construction phase is highly appreciated
  • Experience from handling project cost and time-schedule is a plus
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is a plus

Specific Skills/Abilities

  • Certified in PMI, IPMA or equivalent is a plus
  • You use project management system tools with ease
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Efficient communicator
  • Good at prioritising and taking decisions
  • Has a can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
