Exmet has developed a proprietary technology, based on additive manufacturing, enabling the design and serial production of metallic glass components for industrial applications.

The introduction of Exmet’s solutions have been very successful on our target markets. Exmet is expanding and we are now recruiting a material scientist that will add competence to our team and contribute to the further growth of our business.

Skills & Requirements
  • A degree in materials science, metallurgy or equivalent, including chemistry or physics (MSc
    or PhD or in between)

  • Advanced knowledge of amorphous metals and bulk metallic glasses

  • Advanced knowledge of alloy selection and alloy development

  • Practical skills in analysis methods used for amorphous metals, and deep understanding of interpreting results (DSC, XRD, EBSD, etc)

  • Ability to communicate and network with colleagues, customers, external partners, R&D funding organizations, and others; both orally and in writing. Fluent English is a must; Swedish a merit.

  • Ability to plan and execute work tasks in an organized and systematic way

  • Interest in combining pragmatic and academic approaches to solve technical challenges

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute R&D of amorphous materials, including development of alloys and of manufacturing processes

  • Utilize laser-based additive manufacturing technology, “metal AM”, for processing

  • Handle metal powders, including sourcing, utilizing, and analyzing

  • Develop and utilize conventional manufacturing technologies to complete the process chain to final component (machining, surface treatments, etc)

  • Initiate, plan, execute, and report research work internally and externally
