Advisa is a fast-growing fintech company with an aggressive expansion strategy. The company now offers a unique opportunity for a C-level management role responsible for new business development. The Chief Business Development Officer will be in charge of taking new business opportunities from concept level to scalable and revenue-generating business units.

Role description

The Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) will have full responsibility for all new business development. The ambition of the person in the role will determine the scope and speed of development, and there is a budget in place to build a strong team.

Advisa is a fast-growing fintech company active in the consumer loan broking industry. The core business today is unsecured consumer loan broking and it is managed by a central platform team led by the Chief Product Officer and a central customer acquisition team led by the Chief Marketing Officer, with a Chief Financial Officer running business support functions. The CBDO will be responsible for growing Advisa into new business areas and to extend the offering with new products and services. Responsibilities include developing business concepts and drive operational business development in an incubator-like setup with a cross-functional team.

The CBDO will lead its own business and product development team and will also be given requisite support from central teams. The scope of the role and the size of the team will be determined by the success of the new product entries.

Examples of tasks and responsibilities:

  • Together with the CEO, set build and execute on long-term business development and strategic planning.
  • Analyze and decide on new business opportunities
  • Concept development and project management in establishing new businesses with support from your own team and shared resources.
  • Launch and scale new businesses
  • Contribute to congruent company culture and, together with the rest of the management team, secure the long term durability of Advisa.

The role of Chief Business Development Officer requires on the one hand strategic and analytical ability, and on the other willingness, creativity and competence to drive operational and practical new business development. That means that you will have to be able to both work with a long planning horizon to ensure that Advisa is positioned correctly and be ready to get your hands dirty making sure that we succeed in the new businesses that we build. We are looking for a person who has the equivalent of the following competence and experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing, or engineering
  • Experience in product development, marketing och business development
  • P&L experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience from leading a team of highly skilled employees
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience after graduating from university.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of product development and unlying technology
  • Experience from working in an entrepreneurial fast-growing environment with a digital affair
  • Fluent in the Swedish language

  • Strong motivation, proven through own track record, of getting new business' off the ground and into growth mode.
  • Apt at building and leading teams as well as cooperating in cross-functional teams. You will need to be able to continuously partake in prioritizing between new and existing and between disruptive change and ongoing improvements in creating a scalable platform.
