In Vipps we’re on a mission to make life easier for people and businesses through smart payments and identification solutions. From helping people easily split a bill to making it easy for merchants to accept Vipps anywhere to paying your bills, we are working to simplify your day. We are working hard to simplify login and identification and we're further developing the digital payment infrastructure.

Vipps AS is expanding their services with new features to its world class wallets and great ID team. We need to onboard a Tech Lead to focus on digital onboarding!
Join our team to work with innovative development and agile teams to solve simple yet complex tasks to make daily magic for users.

Our Tech Lead has true technical ownership of their domain. From a solid understanding of the high-level architecture to getting deep into PRs and code discussions, you are the go-to technical resource, a mentor and a leader. You often contribute to meetings and coordinate with other departments so that your team can stay focused on coding. You and the Product Manager work as a team to define the roadmap and balance the need for maintenance vs. new feature development.

  • Work with the Product Manager to build a sensible roadmap that balances maintenance (tech debt) and new development (features).
  • Work with the Team Coach to build a collaborative, supportive culture.
  • Be a mentor for your team through thoughtful PRs; how you conduct yourself; how you write your own code; how you document your work; how you document larger architectural designs for the team; how you handle emergencies; how you interact with product, design, etc.
  • Be the technical representative for the team.


  • Build a supportive engineering environment- your team should not hesitate to ask questions to you or the team.
  • Support continuous learning on the team- we all have a lot to learn from each other and from the larger development community. This can be done by identifying conferences, courses, literature, connecting engineers to other engineers that can help them improve a skill.


  • Be the standard for how development is done on the team and be continuously refining your approach based on feedback from the team, the organization, and the development community.
  • Ensure quality, security, and documentation are kept in mind throughout the development process.
  • Ensure the team has a reasonable uptime goal and a reliable way of tracking if it is met.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and make a decision when the team is deadlocked.
  • Keep an eye on the big picture- if there's slack anywhere, pick it up and handle immediate needs and make sure there's a plan for longer term fixes.
  • Do backlog grooming and Jira/task management with the Product Manager and Team Coach

Skills & Requirements

Who We’re Looking For:

You lead and guide the team through technical issues and challenges

  • Conducting security audits to identify areas of improvement
  • Supervise any technical change or updates in a planned roadmap and contribute with new features
  • Code quality assurance
  • Provide architectural design directions
  • Control technical dept an modernise
  • Be responsible to ship good quality code fast

  • Delivery of robust SDKs and API for digital onboarding to own apps and 3party services. Application security and knowledge around compliancy is beneficial.

  • Platform knowledge to Microsoft Azure stack and dev ops is key.

  • Lead SDK development and structured API documentations, design flows.

  • Architectural skills to draw out functional designs and component design

  • Work with our tech suppliers to coordinate and align cross API functions.

  • Understand eco systems and app development for IOS and Android is preferable. To be able to code yourself to contribute to our solution would be just amazing.

  • Lead developers and tech resources in an agile team on their daily job and work in alignment with the product management to meet business goals.

  • Take the ownership of making the product a success and lead the technical foundation and lifecycle of services
