Job Description

Skillbreak is the P2P platform for artistic, real-life, social learning experiences. The platform allows creators, influencers and creatives to make money by offering unique skill-sharing opportunities with efficient administration for both parties through the user-friendly and accessible platform that Skillbreak provides. As we strive to build the best learning platform we’re looking for a brilliant full-stack-developer to join our team.

What have we accomplished so far?

  1. Launched the Skillbreak platform with more than 3300 units (purchased spots) and 3000 workshop participants since launch.
  2. Launched live sessions to allow for people who don’t have the option to attend a physical workshop to also learn new skills.

What’s our challenge now?

  • Expanding to new cities, both in Sweden and abroad
  • Enable and support growth experiments and fast learning
  • Iterating to build the best course-booking platform on the market

What you will do:

  • Build next generation web applications in the latest versions of Rails, React and PostgreSQL - we love to keep up with our frameworks’ latest features.
  • Develop functionalities from start to finish across the stack described below and take responsibility for your own code, including writing tests (yay!).
  • Work together with our designers and other developers to produce amazing things collaboratively.
  • Continuously improve and simplify Skillbreak’s technical system to maintain low complexity and reduce tech debt.
Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years working experience with both Rails and React is required.
  • Experience with large-scale software development.
  • Competence to make right technological and design choices for ease of use and flawless design.
  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (3 or 5 years)
  • Fluent in English and/or Swedish

We are impressed if you have:

  • Experience with devops, such as hosting and continuous integration/delivery
  • Worked in a fast paced environment with sprints
  • Worked with event-, ticketing, web shops or e-commerce products

You are:

  • A team player who loves our vision, you’re intrigued by ideas that have both potential and a big heart.
  • You love to generate market value and make a larger impact long-term.
  • Triggered by difficult challenges and willing to work hard to solve problems.
  • Inspired by being part of scaling up and expanding a business.
  • Preferably based close to Stockholm, but working remotely from another city in Scandinavia is also fine.
