Manufacturing Automation Engineer

We're on the lookout for an Automation Engineer with experience in a manufacturing environment who will be responsible for the technical automation support and lifecycle management of automation systems. This role will serve for designing, implementing, integrating, maintaining and optimizing automation technologies that control, monitor and support the manufacturing process.

You will provide support for automation project execution from concept, specification, development, integration, testing to start-up; and will require direct interface with project teams and clients to ensure alignment with project objectives.


  • Supporting standardized and optimized automation engineering practices associated with process and facilities equipment
  • Supporting and executing of automation qualification and applicable software validation
  • Maintaining the safe and qualified automation design and operation of process and facilities equipment
  • Be part of the continuous innovation, improvement and expansion of the data historian platform
  • Responsible for the design and implementation of automated systems and perform the qualification or validation steps (FAT, SAT, commissioning, IQ, OQ and PQ) according the GAMP 5
  • Establishing technical standards and SOP’s for automated installations or equipment (Building, Manufacturing and packaging equipment)
  • Supporting in adoption of new automation technologies (Industry 4.0) aligned to produce value for the business

Skills & Requirements


  • Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer Science, etc.) or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in programming, validating and maintenance of control systems and data acquisition systems in GxP Environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the following area of responsibility: Pharmaceutical/ Medtech Manufacturing Process, Engineering Design, Project Scope Definition, commissioning and validation
  • Expertise in Software Lifecycle Mgt & Documentation, Technical evaluations/ validation, and Drafting & Executing Test Plans within GxP environment; strong knowledge of GAMP 5
  • Knowledge of Historian, MES, RMI, Industry 4.0, IIoT, and Smart Manufacturing technologies, CNC Axis Controllers, Siemens PLCs, vision system, etc.
