Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Project Manager Strategic Project to join our stellar team in Stockholm.

As project manager, you will support the Northvolt Ett project execution of the large-scale battery factory being built in Northern Sweden through strategic initiatives. The Ett Project Management Office (PMO) is divided into sub-programs; Upstream, Downstream and Infrastructure, as well as supporting functions running across these programs. As a Strategic Project Manager you will run initiatives within the sub-programs and customer projects to support the overall objectives of the Ett Project. Your responsibilities will extend into both the design phase as well as the execution phase.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Drive and/or manage, together with various functions within Northvolt, strategic initiatives such as (but not limited to);

  • Drive value engineering initiatives together with Customer & Industrialization Projects (key interface with Cell Designers & Process Engineers)
  • Drive CAPEX optimization initiatives
  • Support Procurement Managers in negotiations of key contracts
  • Support Finance Team in funding efforts, such as building financial cases for future expansions
  • Develop current and future Northvolt partners, e.g. integrators and installation partners

Skills & Requirements

Qualifications/education/experience

  • A relevant university degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar). Engineering degree preferred but not required
  • 2-4 years working experience from 1st tier management consulting company or 4+ years as project manager in demanding industrial environment
  • Must have worked in multi-cultural environment
  • Fluency in English
  • Valuable (but not required) if fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)

Specific skills:

  • Working closely with R&D, Process, Automation, Construction, Procurement, Business Development, Finance you need to have a general understanding of all key functions of an industrial organization whilst possessing an analytical skillset to allow you to dive into detailed problem solving together with subject matter experts
  • You need to possess leadership qualities and ability to build trust and motivation with key stakeholders to ensure implementation of initiatives

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
