The Legal Department at SF Studios (AB Svensk Filmindustri) supports and provides legal advice to the full range of business activities conducted by SF Studios. We are now looking to reinforce our legal team with an additional Legal Counsel to mainly support our Swedish film & TV drama production business. Your focus will be drafting and negotiating production-related agreements such as co-production agreements, license agreements, agreements with talent, such as writers, directors, cast, and crew. Draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts related to film and TV production, including, inter alia, contracts with co-producers, broadcasters, distributors, and talent, in Swedish and English.
Provide advice on various intellectual property law matters, mainly copyright.
Develop templates and other legal know-how documents.
Develop and deliver legal training.
Perform other day-to-day legal and business affairs-related tasks on an as-needed basis for SF Studios’ other business areas Acquisition & Licensing; Distribution and Digital Services.
The position offered is a full-time position, reporting to Head of Legal. You will be based in Stockholm, working in SF Studios’ modern offices in central Stockholm. You can read more about SF Studios’ legal team here.
Skills & Requirements
Master of Laws degree, LL.M (jur.kand.) with excellent academic results.
3-6 years’ experience of commercial law from a law firm or an in-house legal department with a focus on commercial contracts and intellectual property, in particular copyright law.
Ideally, you have previous experience from the entertainment industry such as a film/TV production company, broadcaster, content distributor, or similar.
Excellent Swedish and English language skills, both written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus.
We think you are genuinely bright and have a positive personality with a good sense of humor. You have strong interpersonal skills, fostering excellent client relationships across the business. Furthermore, we believe you enjoy taking your own initiatives and working independently yet are a collaborative team player. You have a pragmatic and business-minded approach and are happy to resolve legal issues with varying complexity. You thrive in a busy environment and have the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time – and can prioritize against given deadlines.
