Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning) Manger to join our excellent and passionate team at Northvolt in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start, building one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play a significant role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

Director of SIOP will focus on building from scratch an end-to-end planning process for Northvolt operations across its entire geography. Together the SIOP team that needs to be built, the successful candidate will be a part of or drive all relevant operational forums in order to gather all input required to build the demand and supply plan.

Northvolt journey starts in Västerås, Sweden with Northvolt Labs, a prototyping factory already in operation, while the giga-factories Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå and Northvolt Zwei in Salzgitter, Germany are being constructed and planned. As key player in the Logistics and Planning Team you will have the opportunity to design and build sustainable SIOP process solutions from scratch, both for Northvolt’s operations in Sweden, as well as beyond. You will be based in Stockholm at Northvolt’s head office and report to Director of Logistics and Planning.

In broad terms, Team Logistics is expanding its scope from being responsible for everything that moves, to as well planning the activities before the move commences. Our mission is to support Northvolt’s growth and expansion with logistical and planning expertise and to create a robust operational framework, within which Northvolt units can operate.
In parallel, we must secure sustainability of our solutions while maintaining supply chain efficiency.

Generally speaking, you have substantial and documented experience in planning. You had the opportunity to first hand experience the challenges of production, demand and supply planning. You are well aware of their differences, dependencies and their impact on the operation.

You have worked with SIOP in industries that have both fast changing, as well as stable product ranges and Bills of Materials. You had the responsibility over global arena where suppliers were located next door, as well as 60 sailing days away.

You might have been driving or have been engaged in greenfield or brownfield projects, where planning processes had to be built ground up or heavily re-designed, in an environment which is not mature and predictable, with no history to rely on.

Ideally your background is electronics or semi-conductors, where Bill of Materials as well as product range is on the dynamic side of things.

In your job you will:

  • build the roadmap to Northvolt's SIOP maturity
  • walk that road

  • build a small central SIOP team to council a landscape of local, factory-based planners

  • define, build, and secure the implementation of the Northvolt SIOP process from start to finish

  • navigate between strategic work and tactical, hands-on planning activities

  • work together with the business development and programme teams to ensure capacity allocation across Northvolt current and future landscape

  • define the handover point between central and local planning

  • work on increasing the precision of forecasting

  • build and develop the SIOP KPI dashboard

  • educate colleagues in the area of SIOP

  • continuously improve overall Northvolt operations
